About Moriah

Like my fellow weirdos, I graduated from The Ohio State University with a major in English and a minor in creative writing. I also graduated cum laude and with research distinction. (Yes, I am very proud of myself.) I’m a Connecticut native (go Patriots!), but I’ve traveled to southern California almost every year since I was six months old to see my extended family. Besides CA, I’ve traveled around the southwest U.S. and to Portugal and Israel. Along with being an aspiring world traveler, I want to be a successful young adult novelist. I tend to lean toward fantasy or fiction when I write…I have enough of reality day-to-day, so I would rather not write about it. I hope to complete editing my first novel soon. I started it in high school…good lord, it’s been eight years. The story has become my baby, and I am its extremely protective tiger mother. Other than writing, I think I want to teach…maybe high school…I don’t know…I don’t want to adult yet.

Here are a few short sentences that we all hold very close to our hearts: Life is all about juggling a love-hate relationship with people. Coffee is a gift from the angels. Chobani yogurt is Satan’s curse upon the world. Retail therapy is perhaps the most effective treatment known to mankind. Traveling is a must… You are only alive on this earth once, so you should do all you can to see it.

What Do You Enjoy Most About Writing?

Writing is terrifying. It makes me vulnerable and strips me of all my security blankets. There is nothing in this world that makes me feel more human, more alive, than writing.

What Do You Look Forward to Most in Upcoming & Current Adventures?

I want to see new places, taste new foods, meet new people, and smell new air. I want to see the vastness of the world. In less eloquent terms, I want to explore and see a ton of cool stuff.
